The NHS offers treatment to people with COVID-19 who are at the highest risk of becoming seriously ill.
Who can have COVID-19 treatment:
From 1 August, eligible Covid-19 patients in the North East and North Cumbria can access treatment through community pharmacies. As part of the NHS Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme, pharmacists will assess patients remotely, prescribe suitable medicines, and send prescriptions electronically to be dispensed locally.
Patients can be referred by NHS111, a healthcare professional, or can self-refer by emailing ips.nenc.cmdu@nhs.net
For patients who are housebound, or newly severely immunosuppressed, the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) can help to arrange a vaccination appointment if it cannot be booked in the usual way. If a patient's specialist or GP practice has been unable to organise a vaccination for you, please contact:
Email: necsu.immunosuppressedney@nhs.net
Be wise, immunise - get vaccinated and get protected.
